Pink Floyd is one of my all times favorite bands. I grew up with their music, and their music inspired me and made me dream for years...
"Echoes" is one of the main titles of the Meddle album (1971): a long epic suite, where Gilmour's guitar solos play a key-part... An inspired psychedelic symphony, blending abstract soundscapes (the "seaguls" section at the middle of the piece), floating parts, and up-tempo sequences.
In their 19 Sept. 1987 performance at the JFK Stadium, Philadelphia, Pink Floyd played Echoes in a very special way, with a weird energy, a great feeling... David Gilmour's guitar parts are just splendid... In the last part of "Echoes", Gary Wallis added a very special emphasis to the piece with his percussive work...
This interpretation of "Echoes" is my favorite one...
This is an audience recording with a very good sound and a fantastic feeling and energy ...
